Nha San Collective - Nathalie Bruys
Dutch artist Nathalie Bruys is specialized in soundart and makes soundtracks, compositions, performances, installations, drawings/collage, animation, video’s, costumes, stageobjects, soundwalks, vinyl and cd’s. She is also a soundart curator and performs as a DJ. Nathalie explores the possibilities of sound as a medium within the context of the visual arts. She believes that the intrinsic power of sound can completely transcend the listener from time and place into an eternal world.
Her work has been exhibited and/or performed widely at Stedelijk Bureau Amsterdam, De Appel, Marres, GEM, SMAK, Watou, De Paviljoens, NIMK, SYNCH festival, CTM Berlin, Platform21, Impakt Festival and many other places. She has won various prizes such as the Charlotte Kohler Prize and the Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst Prijs. In 2009 openend her first permanent sound installation ‘Frequency Elixir’ at the Muziekhuis in Utrecht.
